From Rainbow Kitten Surprise:
"The update on our end is that things are really improving, folks are getting better and we are working extremely hard on getting back to business. That said, healing isn’t linear and we are aware of the challenges that touring brings (especially international touring) to us individually and collectively. We want to bring the most positive and loving experience to our fans and feel that a little more healing will go a long way.
We try not to take for granted that we have the best fans around. We know you spend money to travel to see us. You request vacation days. You make plans for your kids or your pets or both. We realize some of you don't recover deposits, flights etc. Knowing that these decisions affect y’all breaks our hearts but, for us to continue to do this job we have to lead with our humanity. So thank you dearly for understanding, for seeing us as humans, and for the incredible patience and grace you have shown us thus far.
Here are the updates regarding Mobile, New Orleans, Hulaween and Europe.
- We have made the decision to move Mobile and New Orleans from the end of October to December 18th and 19th respectively.
- We have made the tough decision not to play Hulaween this year. It is one of our favorite festivals to attend as fans and we are heartbroken. We will get back on that lineup in the future. It is a mission.
- We are rescheduling Europe for early 2023. Hold on to your tickets. New dates will be announced in the coming weeks. We’re so excited to get back to Europe and we’re going to make sure as many of you can see us as possible.
We feel great about December and on into 2023. We want to be on that stage as badly as y’all want to fill those spaces with love! Until then we promise to lead with honesty and hope."
Love, RKS
As if channeling another dimension where genres simply don’t exist, Rainbow Kitten Surprise find harmony in unpredictability, weaving together lyrical poetry, hummable melodies, and a rush of instrumental eccentricities. They quietly built an audience with Seven + Mary [2013] and RKS [2015] before serving up their 2018 full-length debut for Elektra, “HOW TO: FRIEND, LOVE, FREEFALL” – produced by Grammy Award-winner Jay Joyce (Cage The Elephant, Sleeper Agent).
Igniting a two-year whirlwind, it brought the band’s total stream tally well past one billion, while they garnered widespread praise from Billboard,TIME, Vice, and NPR who described their sound as “…a mix of jam and indie and whatever else you can throw into the soup…very earnest, beautiful, political, loving rock n’ roll.” Meanwhile, “Fever Pitch” marked their first Top 10 at AAA. Not to mention, they’ve performed on “CBS This Morning Saturday,” “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” PBS’s “Austin City Limits,” and graced the bills of Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, and Osheaga, to name a few. Moving 80,000 tickets, they embarked on the sold-out Friend, Love Freefall Tour earmarked by a packed night at Red Rocks Amphitheatre and three consecutive gigs in Athens, GA—as chronicled on their first official live album, Live From Athens Georgia, which came out in 2021.
